Jokey Ibérica successfully certified according to UNE-EN 15343:2008 standard
Jokey Ibérica S.L.U. passed the audit of the Spanish standardization and certification company AENOR (Asociación Española de Normalización y Certificación) at the beginning of December and is successfully certified according to UNE-EN 15343:2008.
Within a short project phase of only a few weeks, the Jokey Ibérica team has successfully met all the requirements for UNE-EN 15343:2008 certification.
The sustainability certification for plastic recyclates includes specifications for traceability in plastic recycling, for assessing conformity and for recyclate proportions. The certification is thus also an acknowledgement of the Jokey Group’s commitment to a circular economy for plastic packaging.
In addition, the certification is extremely relevant for Jokey and its customers, as Jokey Ibérica can now verify and certify the percentage of polypropylene recyclate (rPP) in the products it manufactures.
This verification is an important part of determining the tax rate that the Spanish tax authorities will levy on plastic products under the plastic tax law, which will be valid from January 1, 2024. “Special thanks go to our QESH (Quality, Environment, Safety & Health) team,” says Vicente Hernández, General Plant Manager Jokey Ibérica. “The certification is a joint effort, and I would like to thank everyone involved for their outstanding commitment,” Hernández continues.
