Jokey Gummersbach receives “Sicher mit System” seal of quality

Jokey Gummersbach SE has been awarded the “Sicher mit System” (Systematic Safety) seal of quality by the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the raw materials and chemical industry (BG RCI) for its professionally structured occupational safety management system. With this certificate, the employers’ liability insurance association confirms that Jokey meets all the requirements for systematic and effective occupational safety on the basis of the seal of quality and the associated industry-specific implementation.

The aim of the BG RCI certification is to actively support its member companies in the area of occupational health and safety. The “Sicher mit System” (Systematic Safety) seal of quality, which is valid for three years, is awarded to companies whose commitment to occupational safety goes beyond the mandatory requirements by introducing an AMS. This is associated with the continuous improvement of occupational safety.

In a process lasting around two years, Jokey successfully passed through various stages – from an initial review to a precise recording and examination of the processes, including the determination of the need for action and the final assessment – before the actual audit by employees of the employers‘ liability insurance association in December 2020. Experts from the employers’ liability insurance association provided advice throughout this process.

Jokey used the certification process to align its entire occupational health and safety management system at the highest level. “Setting up an AMS involved extensive safety checks at all levels of the company,” summarises Frank Diesterbeck, plant manager at Jokey Gummersbach. “Thanks to the precise documentation of all processes, we were able to significantly raise our employees” awareness of the topic. This means that accidents and work-related illnesses can be avoided even more effectively in the future.”
