Livestream: Jokey France in dialogue with customers about recycled packaging
Jokey France has now also taken the opportunity to inform its customers about the use of recycled packaging via livestream. At the end of April, a Jokey team of experts was on hand to answer questions at a customer event.
Instead of the usual roadshow, Jokey France presented news and facts about recyclate packaging in a livestream due to the restrictions caused by the ongoing corona pandemic. With professional support, the Jokey management had transformed a training room at the Labourse plant into a professional broadcasting studio. During the one-hour event, interested customers from the food and non-food sectors were able to follow lectures and presentations and ask the experts questions directly in a live chat. The focus was on the Jokey Eco Concept 2.0, with which the company is already making a major contribution to the circular economy. The company’s stated goal is to achieve climate-neutral production by 2030. The focus of the live event, which was held in French, was on the use of recycled materials.
Recycled packaging in the non-food and food sectors
The Jokey team of experts provided expert insights into the numerous possible uses of packaging made from post-consumer recyclates (PCR) obtained from household collections. More and more customers in the non-food sector are already relying on this recyclable packaging solution, thereby also strengthening their sustainable image. The Jokey experts emphasised that the implementation of a circular economy is increasingly becoming a reality. After all, the more bottlers and manufacturers introduce recyclate packaging, the faster it can establish itself as the standard and boost the circular economy.
The Jokey experts explained the introduction of ISCC Plus-certified plastic packaging to customers from the food industry. The certificate stands for the use and traceability of recycled materials on a mass balance basis. Five Jokey locations have received ISCC Plus certification, including the plant in Labourse. These sites are now also involved in pilot projects to process sustainable plastics made from feedstock obtained through the chemical recycling of used packaging.
Working together to develop the circular economy
Éric Thomas, Sales Manager at Jokey France, was pleased with the positive response to the first French-language livestream. This follows on from the experiences of the two German parent plants, which have already presented these topics in two livestream events. “We want to intensify the relationship with our partners and customers, because only together can we build a functioning circular economy. The switch from new plastic to PCR makes an important contribution to this, which we explicitly encourage our customers to do.” Jokey’s recycled packaging is an ecological and economical win-win solution. It is ecological because it conserves valuable raw materials and can be designed to be both smart and attractive. They thus meet the growing demands of environmentally conscious consumers for sustainable and contemporary packaging. And economically, because they can be seen in the long term to be able to hold their own, for example, against possible plastic taxation.
